The Players : Lois Lane & Jonah Trimble..
What: Lois has a screening process, got it?
Where : Grounds For Insanity.
When : Saturday morning, January 14th, 2012.
Rating : Um.. we'll see.
Notes : It's backdated by a DAY, ok? I'm doing better with this timing thing. YEESH. I'll get this thing to land right at some point! My driving is worse than The Doctor's.
Grounds For Insanity was still the only coffeehouse in town, the cybercafe that lurked around somewhere didn't count since they weren't at all interested in the coffee or cafe aspect of it all and catered just to the internet part, so Lois was still using it as her source of good caffeine. It also helped that they had her maple donuts in abundance. The only flaw was that Stacey the barista was still in hate with Lois. At least this time the glares were justified since she really was dating Steve. Thankfully for Lois, Stacey couldn't exactly do anything to the reporter's orders since Lois could see her work. Of course if the woman ever got a job in a kitchen somewhere Lois knew she was screwed. Maybe if Lois wished really hard, Stacey would suddenly win a one way trip to someplace that wasn't Red Oak.
But today wasn't a day to deal with such childish behavior, no sir. Lois was on a mission and she needed techies to help her out. She still needed to gain access to the hard drives she and Oliver had acquired when they had been in Metropolis. She had managed to get into AltLois's drive, simply by trying some of her own passwords. Luckily one of them hit and Lois had managed to find an assortment of goodies. But so far nothing that might pin point to why Metropolis was there and empty. So Lois needed to get into the other drives to find out if they had anything useful. Nothing she did worked and so she was just going have to do some outsourcing. She also needed a technogeek to help her do some hacking and tracking, but that wasn't a job she was going to offer someone she literally just met (network or in person). But she also wanted to help out in a smaller way by offering payment. It sucked to be a transplant when you were strapped for cash and Lois understood that. She couldn't afford to be anyone's sugar mama (she now realized that she hated that phrase) but a bit of pay for work could be swung now and then. All parties won.
So that was why she was sitting in her fluffy chair at her mushroom table in the coffeehouse waiting for her little interview. Her laptop sat on the table in front of her and Lois sipped her coffee as she caught up on some more episodes of 'In Your Face' that she had missed because she had been caught up in Life as Lois Lane: The Red Oak Months.
