Jonah looks back with a cast much more opaque; he didn't have time to do anything active while Laura wrestled with the remaining threat, but then watching has never been passive for the twins, so maybe that's not quite correct. Now he divides his gaze between Laura's face (although his eyes do initially flicker down once they settle on her face they stay there) and the scattered ...mess around their feet. He considers toeing one of the splattered bodies with his shoe, but he doesn't want to ruin them, which is more 'mess' related thinking that says even though Jonah may not be actively participating in The Project anymore, some changes are slower than others, and some may not come at all. Even if he had literally grown a full-fledged conscience overnight, the fact remains that his perception of broken and rent body parts is similar to Laura's, if for vastly different reasons.
"I'm fine," he answers her query, adding "you're welcome," after with a diffidence that springs from quite a complexity of sources--Southern manners dictate that's the correct response, but generally his politeness restricts itself to adults; he's never bothered much with his peer group for the simple reason that he's indifferent to most of them where not actively put off. Then there's the fact that he simply isn't thanked for things often since he's rarely in the appropriate situation, and just what is the appropriate etiquette for having accidentally entered The Fray of the Living Dead, anyway?
There's a pause to exactly that effect while he considers what to do now that it's over; if things were normal on any level a clipped nod might be the best he'd do as a farewell on his way back to the gatehouse, but the weirdness of being in Delaware at all aside, he doesn't want to go back. (It's not home, it's just ...back. There is no home, anymore.) So: after what was probably much too long a pause he appears to finish wrestling with whatever internal angels and contemplates Laura's injuries. "Are you going to be okay?"
