Castiel shook his head. "Jimmy Novak passed on a little over three years ago," he said somberly. "I...could no longer feel his presence when God resurrected me from certain death. I imagine he is in Heaven now, though I have yet to find him."
Heaven was vast, and while an angel could easily navigate it, Castiel honestly hadn't thought to look for Jimmy. One, he doubted Jimmy would want to see him and two, there was a war to fight. Souls to gather. He couldn't be bothered.
He drew closer to Cole, moving away from the edge. "However if his consent is an issue, I assure you I gained his permission first. An angel cannot take a vessel without his or her consent. It is forbidden."
Staring at Cole blankly, he tried to read him for any sense or fear or disbelief. There was still some doubt, but that was inevitable. "It is not my desire to harm anyone."
