At the mention of any sort of Beast, Cas nodded. He at least knew what that was like. What the fighting between his kind and the demons had done to several places on Earth and how it affected the people there. Whole cities and towns had been leveled by the war and that was precisely what he was looking to avoid.
"Though there was no Beast in the sense you are speaking of, there was something similar," he admitted heavily. "My brother, Lucifer, walked the Earth. Little over a year ago. He sought to bring about the end of days. It was by pure luck that we managed to stop him."
Having no place such as this to retreat, Castiel supposed he was in a way, envious of Cole. There was no Heaven to return to and he'd already looked for anything he knew of - there was no Bobby Singer. No Anna Milton. No Dean Winchester. And only one of those three would have had a home.
"I understand why you brought me here. I am honoured...that you trust me enough to share it."
Seeing as Cas didn't believe anyone had any reason to trust him anymore, it meant a lot. He hoped he wouldn't have to lie to Cole. Or even Meg. Neither of them deserved it, really.
