Steve immediately gave his all American boy smile at the question with a shake of his head, "I'm fine. Not a scratch on me."
He was instantly friendly, giving the people that surrounded them the illusion they were long friends. It wasn't a difficult attitude to take on when the greeting he was given was just as friendly. Many people would scold and curse a careless person, but this stranger took just as much concern over him even though he was the cause of the distraction.
"There must be something in the air," Steve mused to the stranger thoughtfully. It was the time of year to think of things past and what was to come. The natural order of human thought as you increased in years.
