"Oh, you'd remember me if you'd met me. Don't worry. Or, well, you might not, considering I seem to have a bit of a talent for stumbling across highly unlikely and terribly dangerous little hiccups in time, but I haven't done that lately, so we should be all right."
He smiled at her, bright and broad and foolish, the smile that he always wore when things that really shouldn't be happening were, and he was trying to put them in a positive light. The Doctor would be lying if he said he didn't enjoy it, just a bit. He loved the unexpected, the excitement, and now that he was part human, he felt things differently, in some ways more strongly.
"I was hoping you might be able to place your Doctor for me, actually, although any other Doctors you may have met need a bit of placing as well. I'd like to know which me's I need to watch out for, just in case there's a former me running about I need to avoid. I'm a bit different, you see. Might surprise them. Only one heart."
