"Sorry! Sorry." The Doctor reached out a hand to steady the young woman he'd nearly collided with in case she needed it, then quickly dropping said hand when he realized the gesture was unnecessary. "Sorry. Really, I am. Bit of a bad day. Distracted. Hello." He flashed her a smile.
The woman's accent had caught his attention, as the voices he'd heard on his way out of the store had largely sounded American, but this young woman, she was Scottish, or exceptionally good at pretending to be Scottish. "I'm the Doctor," he found himself saying. "I hope I didn't startle you too badly."
