"I know they have names, but all I saw were pictures. Pictures of women from different times, all who travelled with the Doctor." Amy reasoned it like this, because she knew, she knew the Doctor didn't tell her things unless he felt he needed to and it often times took forever for him to do so, but he usually did. Eventually. So, when it came to the others who came before her, she had to wonder a little about them, who they were and what they were like.
At the 'Well', Amy nodded a bit, understanding. "You're old and you're the last of your kind. You've met loads of people, I'm sure. All sorts of people who mean a great deal to you." It wasn't something Amy liked, exactly, knowing why he wouldn't share with her stories about the people who travelled with him before her, but she also knew he was a runner. She ran, too, from boring old Leadworth, so she couldn't say she didn't understand it.
"I guess since we're stuck here, like the rest of us, and you're the Doctor too, you're probably up for doing a bit of exploring, yeah?" Amy was feeling a bit restless, herself, it seemed that the Doctor's restlessness, no matter what version of him it was in, was rubbing off on her, too. Besides, she'd been here a bit longer than he had and that could do him some good, she figured. It was also a nice change of subject from something that she could tell was something that was hard for him to talk about. He might not be her Doctor but she could recognise the things in him that she saw in hers, that she compared to the situation of the Star Whale.
