One still felt bad. She really should have been watching where she was going instead of clumsily stumbling into people. Tucking loose strands from her ponytail behind her ears, she pointed at the diner. "Are you heading in or on your way out?" she asked, before quickly adding so as to not seem rude for questioning a random stranger. "If you're just getting here... can I, like, pay for your meal or something? I feel so embarrassed. Please let me make it right?"
She was nothing if not unfailingly polite. After the decidedly reckless activities of the night before, One felt that being extra charitable was the way to go. If the human concept of karma did indeed exist, she wanted to fix up her personal cosmic balance sheet.
