At twenty-seven years of age with a heart that was frequently running a good decade behind that, Cole didn't feel old. Especially not while he was in this little town. Without having that horrid feeling of the world's weight on his shoulders, he actually felt able to relax, even if he was horribly bored while relaxing.
It'd only been a week since he got here, but this was why he'd never bothered going anywhere but a big city like Empire City, New Marais, or sometimes L.A. or San Fran. There just wasn't anything to do in places like Red Oak, but he'd offered what services he could to the police to try and fill up time. That was another big flip on his usual style, but after developing 'super powers', he always seemed to be helping out the poor bastards whenever he could, instead of just making fun of them and making their lives hell. That past seemed so distant now, even if it was barely a year behind him.
Watching Evie's little melting show, Cole was glad that there wasn't so much ice that it'd make a huge mess. There was just enough to cause the chunks of ice to litter the sidewalk and a bit of the road between the buildings, no doubt confusing the hell out of anyone who came by that night. "Thankfully it's past nine at night and most everyone here's already retired for the night," he said with a laugh, almost wishing that someone had been wandering out a bit later. Someone unsuspecting who could get a friendly little mini-hail storm to talk about when they got home. Sadly, no such luck!
Glancing back to Evie, he couldn't help but carry on the charade. Ice was still more Kuo's thing than his, but he was getting better at it. Now if was just a matter of showing off what else he could do without causing a hell of a lot of damage...
As he considered, Cole's hands began to crackle with electrical energy. Then an idea finally came to him. "Right. Now most of what I do causes a hell of a lot of collateral damage, but this oughta make for a bit of a show for anyone still awake." At that a mass of pure electricity formed in the palm of each hand that Cole brought together, soon throwing the ball of energy into the air. Raising one hand to let off another zap to detonate it, a rush of white, crackling thunder spread across the night sky in every direction; each vein of light faded harmlessly, but put on a pretty good show none the less.
