These days, Buffy was pretty tired of exploring, but she also knew she had to learn every nook and cranny of Red Oak if she was going to patrol properly. With living Bombs, vampires, and who knew what else, she had to know where everything was. Whether it was for an escape route or sanctuary, it was key to know should things turn sour on a patrol. So bells went off when she found an odd pamphlet in Anansi's office about some kind of spa that she'd never even heard of and even had Anansi listed as an employee. That didn't exactly make any sense to her, since Anansi's idea of work only made sense in his mind and not what passed for the real world. Curious, Buffy decided to check it out.
What she found was no spa, too bad she would have enjoyed that, but a dojo. That was almost better than a spa, because she could actually see herself showing up and training without a lot of questions and plenty of room. There was only so much she could do at the manor before people started to wonder what she was doing in the hedge maze. As she explored the place, passing by people she recognized in town, she had to pause to admire some of the statues. But what really caught her attention was the variety of weapons on display. Her eyes were wide in admiration and she had to resist the urge to grab and run. The collection was amazing and it really made her miss the things she'd left behind.
She stopped in front of a few items, one of which was, her brow furrowed in thought. A batliff? She remembered Andrew giving her one for a present, and talking about Star Trek or something else she filtered out of her brain. But he'd gotten it so she could actually use it and to share his geek love, so Buffy couldn't hate him for that. She didn't get a chance to use it more than once though. She sighed and absently reached her hand out to a brilliant looking sword in a glass case, a wistful act of a greedy little Slayer. She missed her toys.
