WHO: Claire Bennet & Buffy Summers WHAT: Two petite blonde cheerleader types meet. WHERE: The Abigail Winters Manor WHEN: backdated to evening of Nov 18th RATING: PG-13 at most
After helping out Steve with his Googling problem, Claire wrapped up a few Internet activities of her own by making her way onto the town message boards for the first time. She thought she might come across a few job openings, a few cheap rentals that needed more roommates to fill, or some explanation of what the hell kind of place this was. What she hadn't expected to see was a public safety announcement of sorts talking about semi-sentient exploding fireballs. One positive thing came out of her commenting on the forums, though. She now knew about an affordable place to crash during her time in Red Oaks, however long that was going to be. Secondly, the girl who made the post, Buffy, seemed friendly enough. They even made tentative plans to meet up once Claire made her way to the Manor that was mentioned.
Since she didn't have any better prospects of places to live, Claire was really in no position to turn down any generosity whatsoever. In any case, the place sounded like a sweet deal. The directions provided by Buffy were not the most specific, but they were certainly descriptive enough. After stopping to ask a few random people on the streets, all she had to do was give the name of the place and they were able to point her on her way. Once she started walking in the direction of the place, it didn't take long before she was able to spot it. It strongly resembled, just like Buffy said, a castle. Claire began to second guess that she would be able to stay here without monetary payment. What if this was a trick? Sure, Buffy seemed nice enough, but the whole situation seemed a little too good to be true. After all the lies she's had to sift through in the last few years alone, from people she had known and trusted her entire life no less, she wasn't entirely sure if she could believe this.
Then again, she was alone in this world. If she didn't take this opportunity to check things out, just in case, she might miss out on something great. No one else was here to look into things for her, so Claire knew she needed to take the initiative herself. When she walked down the lane leading up to the enormous house and stepped on to the front porch, prepared to knock, she saw that the door was already ajar. Pushing the door open more, Claire peeked around the door, hesitant to simply walk in. "Hello?"
