"Yes?" He caught the surprise, torn between asking why anyone would think otherwise and being polite. Manners won out. No matter how curious he was to know the why behind her reaction, it wasn't a life or death situation, as far as he knew. Clark glanced around casually, an automatic check to see if anyone was listening in on this strange little conversation, then turned back to the stranger.
"Likewise, ma'am, and to be honest, I have no idea. Directions to the nearest bus or train station would be gratefully accepted, though. I need to get home."
