Now that was a topic Claire hadn't expected, but it was a very useful one. What was more, how she had the name of an organization to look into if she wanted to do some research of her own, which was way more than she had before talking to Steve. But even here, Claire thought that her dad's advice would be to try to blend in and stay careful as much as possible. That meant trying to act normal, and normal teenage girls didn't investigate interdimensional police departments, as interesting as that sounded. At least, not outwardly.
"Well, that sounds like a great idea, Steve. Someone should be checking into things with all the weird stuff around here," said Claire. It was good to know that she wasn't the only person a long way from home and having arrived here under mysterious circumstances. "I have a few things to look into myself, but I'll be right over there if you need anything, okay?" She jerked her thumb towards the computer terminal she was sitting at before. Claire didn't have her cell phone and, from her earlier trial, her regular email address didn't seem to work correctly here. Surely there was some way the inhabitants of this town still managed to communicate to one another.
