The Manor didn't seem to be too far off although he certainly wasn't going to rush the walk. He was glad that Niki decided to start with her story as they went. Rory gave her the better part of her attention and the occasional thoughtful nod as he processed what she was saying. It was easy for him to balk at the idea of going to the mafia to proved for a child but then he hadn't really considered what lengths he would go to if he was a parent. (and what lengths he had, in fact, gone to, although the memories were lost for now)
Rory didn't want to push so much as encourage so he gave her a moment of silence as they walked before he asked, "How bad did it get?" One of the outdoor tables in sight, he made a motion to indicate to her which one they should take, suspecting that if it was bad enough, he'd rather be sitting when he heard this.
