Really if the TARDIS were up to snuff, it wouldn't be difficult to imagine the Doctor restoring everyone to their rightful time and place. As it was, it wasn't a time machine and where it could go in space might be limited as well. He hadn't thought to ask. Red Oak was challenging enough and really he was grateful just to be in a place where time flowed as it ought and no Silence hunting him or the people he cared for.
