"It doesn't work now," he added, thinking that that would be the first thing he would ask if someone told him they had a time machine. "It's something about this place, you can't go forwards or backwards, at least that's what I've been told. Makes me sound a bit more ridiculous, I know, but I am telling you the truth."
"Well, we could sit down then? I'm not in a rush to be anywhere else just now," he added with a friendly smile. He looked around for some place to sit then said, "Maybe we should head back towards the manor, I think there's some benches or tables outside." He really did want to give her a chance to tell her his story. Between his experiences with the Doctor and the range of arrivals he helped, he was fairly ready to believe whatever she had to say.
