"Yeah," Rory drew the word out, wondering if he was going to upset her if he tried to explain further. He wasn't out to shake anyone's worldview when he talked about himself or where he'd come from or the Doctor and the TARDIS. He was only trying to share enough to keep people aware of the mix here at Red Oak and let people know they had allies and protectors even as new dangers mad themselves known.
"I didn't either for a long time. I mean," he gave a smile that had almost a touch of a grimace, "There was this girl, she used to tell me stories about the raggedy doctor and his time machine. It's, um, it's both, a spaceship and a time machine. And I didn't really believe her until he showed up one day to stop some aliens from wiping us out. Then he came back and, uh, he took both of us on adventures." He gave Niki a broader grin as he added wryly, "So if you want to tell me your story, you can imagine that I've been through strange enough that I'll probably believe you."
