Because Rory had been able to identify her so well she wondered if what was bothering her was written on her face. While she didn’t think she was hard to figure out it seemed so easy for some stranger to realize that something was bothering her. Though, it was possible that he had experience, that she wasn’t the first person he had come across who looked like they were lost. Niki couldn’t help but wonder how many people were actually here that knew they didn’t belong.
“I am new,” she answered, her voice sheltered and quiet. There was no point in lying or waving off her problems that weren’t going to vanish anytime soon. “Is it that easy to figure out? Then again, you probably haven’t seen me around here before. I guess that kind of gives you an idea on whether or not I’m new or not.”
