"Patterns?" he asked, looking at her in a sort of dumb struck way. "No, no, that would be far too easy..." he paused, tapping his lips with his index finger. Stopping, he suddenly seemed to surge back to life. "UNLESS!" he exclaimed. "They'd need to take certain people first, people who could pose a threat should they find out this sort of place exists, should we find out that they're or whatever it is, are taking people straight out of time and space..." he paused as if he were running out of steam. "Bringing them here where they can be out of the way... And they'll just keep bringing more and more people... I can guarantee that!" he said, ever so sure of himself. But there was a sort of panic in his voice. He ran is fingers roughly through his hair and staggered backwards.
So what if they were taking the important people out of the universe, no... the multi-verse? Putting them all into one place? Or perhaps, just maybe this was a place where all the inspiration in the multi verse came from and it was just reclaiming them? He had some strange theory that they were all just stories, but it sounded so daft that even he didn't want to entertain the possibility. The Doctor conjured every imaginable possibility in hopes of finding logic, but logic didn't always apply, and it probably didn't in this case so perhaps it was more surreal?
"We were just done chasing..." he stopped, a look of sudden realization crossing his features and freezing them in place. "The cracks in time and space. They should have all been gone by now... They were gone, this can't be...." e paused and turned on the spot looking up and around.
