Meg tipped her head back slightly to let the rain fall down across her face. The cold rain felt good, strangely refreshing and she let it soak into her until her hair hung thickly around her face.
She brought her head back down to look Clarence in the eye. "Well, that's good, Clarence," she said after a moment. "Pancakes are an important part of life."
Meg hesitated for a minute. "That wasn't sarcasm. I was being completely serious."
Meg tipped her head to the side now to look up at him. After a moment's thought, she decided, what the hell and reached up to tangle her fingers in the hair at the back of his neck, pulling his mouth down to meet hers and letting her other hand slide down to rest against his waist.
