Meg thought they were probably pretty well matched on that score, then. She rarely listened when someone talked to her, so it really wouldn't be any different than usual.
She shrugged her shoulders, pushing her hair back out of face as she looked up at him. She wondered briefly how he would react if she kissed him again. She had noticed him glance at her mouth when he looked at her that last time.
Meg bit down on her lip and finished the rest of her drink in a swallow. The bartender raised an eyebrow and the glass was instantly swept from in front of her and replaced with a full one.
She wrapped a strand of hair around her fingers as she tapped her nails against the glass for a second. "I found an apartment," she said, thinking as she did so. "I figure if I'm stuck here indefinitely, I should at least be able to be out of the rain."
She didn't mention that the apartment she was in had belonged to someone who was no longer living. Really. . .if he didn't know her well enough by now to work that out, then there were going to be any number of problems, here.
