"The power of love is the only way to go, honey," Aphrodite said with a wink. There was a time when she had been bored with her own status in life and she had tried some of her siblings' lively hoods, but that had been a failure. The only really good things to come from that was her friendship with Curly and finding her own true love, Heph. She wouldn't have traded that for anything. "Though a good fireball is always handy to have around too."
"First of all, I don't know if it's the future for you. It's November 8th, 2011 here. You mortals and your time tend to bleed together." So she still wasn't even bothering to actually hide her true self from him. She wasn't going to actually admit to anything, but she could let him figure it out while she answered his questions. "Second of all, I'm the last person to ask for advice on what's considered cheating." Not because she was all about the love, but she also represented lust as well. "That is a personal choice between the people involved. What some people consider cheating might easily be acceptable for others and I'm all for sharing the love." She was ticking all these answers off with her fingers now. "Third, I'm not about to go throwing love whammies that traumatize others." Unless she was having a little fun of her own, which she wasn't going to do anymore! She was Aphrodite 3.0. "Fourth, and this a big one so stick with me here, kid. Think of your reality as an egg carton full of other eggs that are the things in that reality. Your egg carton is on a truck with other egg cartons. Each carton is a different reality and then, BAM!" She spun around and stopped right in front of him, shouting the word. "For whatever reason, the truck gets hit by a bigger truck, sending eggs and cartons everywhere. Lots are smashed, some are missing, and some get picked up by weirdos in funky hats. But then some good samaritan shows up and starts picking up the eggs that are still good or available and putting them in an empty carton. Do you get what I'm saying?" Heph would be so proud of her analogy.
Oh, that was a loaded question. She really only had two options. So she went for the lesser one to make it easier on herself. "My egg carton was hit first by the truck. I may be able to go anywhere," that was somewhat true. If she stopped spreading her powers so thin she could leave. But until that day, she was going to be sticking around here. "But, I have plenty of work I can do here. So I'm good wherever I am."
