WHO: Nathan Young & Open WHAT: Arriving WHEN: early morning November 8th WHERE: Red Oak Mall NOTES: High language. It's to be expected that Nathan will always have foul language.
"Just five more minutes," Nathan grumbled and rolled over. A strange noise had been pounding into his head and woke him from his sleep but he hadn't bothered to open his eyes. He was only half aware of the situation in his unawake state. But as he laid there, he remembered. Right. The lights and sounds of Vegas. Marnie and Nathan, jr in the hotel room. The seven on the dice. Rabbit out of his ass, which still fucking hurt. Prison. Nathan's eyes shot open.
A bird flew past and the grey clouds above moved by slowly. This wasn't prison. He wasn't in his cell. Nathan felt the grass under his fingertips. He was outside. HE WAS OUTSIDE. He quickly sat up. He was free! The new guy must have gotten the message to the others! They had rescued him! He jumped up and began to look around. He seemed to be in some sort of park. No one was paying any attention to him, though one jogger who ran past looked at him strangely. He looked down. He was still in the orange prison jump suit. Shit. Where were the others? He could borrow some clothes from Curtis.
"Curtis? Kelly! Alisha! Barry, you wanker! This isn't funny, where'd you lot go?" he called out as he unbuttoned the jumpsuit and pulled it down, tieing the sleeves around his waist. There was no response. Well all right. This wasn't the first time he was left alone in a confusing situation. It wouldn't be the last. First thing on the agenda was to get some new clothes. Then maybe find something to eat. Nathan made his way out of the park and towards town. Where was he? This wasn't Vegas. This wasn't London either. As he eavesdropped on conversations along the streets, he came to the conclusion he was still somewhere in America.
He walked into the shopping center and began to look out for a store that was heavily packed. Somewhere he'd be able to slip something out without being caught. No money. No identification. He had nothing on him. This wasn't going to be easy because the jumpsuit screamed someone who was up to no good.
"It's a Halloween costume!" he snapped at a woman in the store who kept staring at him. Halloween had just been around the corner, right? All the stores seemed to have all their Christmas decorations up and there were hiring signs in the windows. It seemed like a logical deduction.
He grabbed a pair of jeans and a jumper off the rack. He slipped into one of the dressing rooms and slipped on the clothes. He left the orange jumpsuit on the floor and strolled out as if it were nothing. He pushed his way through all the other shoppers in the store and was almost to the exit when an associate yelled, "You have to pay for those!"
Nathan dashed out of the store and began to run while security chased after him. "Fuck me!" he yelled as he tried to pick up the pace and get through the mall crowd. He knocked over an old woman and thought for a split second to help her before the sight of security quickly changed his mind. He slipped into a crowd entering the movie theatre and hid in one of the theatres until he was sure he lost them. He slipped on a pair of knicked sunglasses and strolled out back into the mall crowd as if it were nothing.
