He pointed out, knowing that if it had been anyone else, someone who maybe didn't fit in this timeline or hadn't the troubles she had in being pulled from her space and place in time, he probably wouldn't have tried to help so. Pete knew though, that between a pending explosion at Kirby Plaza and anything to do with missing children, it was nothing good. And, well, he hadn't exactly spilled the whole truth when he had first run into her. That might have brought Jessica out far quicker than anything else could have, and then he'd be faced with trying to pull himself back together on the street versus potentially running out of gas from a back and forth on the turnpike.

Peter said, knowing that while he could get her to a place to stay, one that wouldn't necessarily charge so much as request she repay the debt somehow, it wasn't like a roof was all that a person needed in the grand scheme of things, especially not in Red Oak where it seemed all matters of crazy were happening each and every single day that passed.
