She didn’t know it but Peter probably knew what she was talking about better than anyone. He had seen other versions of himself – the darker, more determined parts of himself that reflected on these future versions of himself he had met. While Jessica seemed like that it was different because Niki had to mentally live with it. Most of the time it felt like Niki was fighting just to take control of her own body when Jessica wanted to become the dominant personality.
It was difficult and Niki didn’t know how long it would go on. She didn’t know when the next time Jessica would surface and if she did what would happen? As Niki watched Peter, eyes intently gazing at him, she couldn’t help but wonder if he was in danger or not. What if Jessica wanted to kill him? What if Jessica saw Peter as some kind of obstacle that was standing in her way? While Peter was currently helping her she didn’t think that kindness mattered – nothing really mattered when it came to Jessica.
How was she supposed to bring it up to him? Niki was afraid that he would think she was crazy, that she was a lunatic with bipolar disorder just itching to flip coins on him. “Listen – I think I should tell you something. I don’t mean to cut into your worries about Nathan but this is important.”
