Because Niki didn’t know what else to do she had no choice but to rely on Peter. There was a gut feeling she had; something that told her that she could trust the man that was in front of her. He was so willing to help her, so eager to drop everything and go with Niki all the way back to New York. Even if it seemed impossible, even if there was a chance that they would nose dive off a cliff, Peter didn’t seem worried or think that they would be in any danger. He wanted her to trust him, to believe it when he said that she would be safe.
And she did – she did believe him. While Niki could have blamed it on having no other choice it remarkably didn’t feel like that to her. She trusted him because she wanted to.
He was caring, very much like Nathan until he turned his back on her. Though, that’s where Niki stopped the similarities since she didn’t want to compare him with the man she met in Las Vegas. She didn’t want to think that Peter was just as bad as Nathan when it came to helping her.
“Thank you,” Niki whispered, genuinely feeling a lot better about her situation. She wasn’t alone in this and she had someone there with her, someone who was from her world; who could help and understand what she was going through.
