None of what Peter was saying was making any sense to her. How could they be in one place and magically somewhere else? Nothing in Niki’s life made much sense but at least she had a grasp on reality and her whereabouts (most of the time, at least). What was being suggested to her was downright maddening and it sort of felt as if Niki was supposed to just accept the fact that there was no way to get back to New York, to get back to D.L. and her son. “It just doesn’t make any sense,” Niki concluded softly, shaking her head as she turned away from Peter to look at her surroundings once more, trying her best to find understanding in her predicament.
“I don’t want to stay here. I have to go back. You don’t understand. I just can’t stay in this place when my son is in danger and D.L. – he was shot and he could be dead by now.” She wasn’t sure how but Niki knew that she needed to figure out a way to get to New York, back to Kirby Plaza in order to save her son from Linderman who only wanted to use her son’s ability for selfish needs. Niki stared at Peter, wondering what he would say and whether or not he would help her if she decided to ask him.
