When Niki’s name was called she was disoriented enough to think it was D.L., her face changing to relief for one a few seconds until she realized it wasn’t her former husband calling out to her. Niki narrowed her eyes, trying to figure out who it was that was talking to her since she didn’t recognize who he was. Though, because the man knew her name, it was clear to Niki that the two of them had met at some point in time. “Who are you?” Niki asked, trying to her best to search her mind for the man’s face with nothing familiar coming to mind. Was he someone that Jessica knew, perhaps? An accomplice or maybe someone sent by Linderman to finish her off because she couldn’t kill her husband.
“Where am I?” was Niki’s next question, her body pushing off from the lamp post as she approached Peter wearily, keeping her guard up just in case he did happen to be a danger to her wellbeing. She stopped just a few feet from him, deciding that she wouldn’t get any closer until she figured out who he was and how he happened to know her name. The only thing Niki didn’t know was what she was going to do if he was there to hurt her in Linderman’s name. She wasn’t strong enough to fight – that was something Jessica usually did.
