Both his words and tone probably gave little comfort, but Cloud wasn't built to be someone to comfort. He was built to be a perfect soldier. While his delusions of his past were long faded, they still were a part of him and something forever to be embedded into his personality. The example of Zack Fair would always be remembered, even if the SOLDIER was no longer of his world. The world he somehow left behind.
