Guy heard her before he saw her, having been looking in the other direction when the wave hit her, and spun around just in time to see her level some kind of magic at him. Ugh! Where were Doctor Fate or Zatanna when you needed them?
Being the badass Lantern that he was, Guy didn't need much will power or concentration to manifest the shield that took the brunt of the attack, but one of those damn lightening streaks got around it and got a lucky hit. Right in his ring.
"Shit!" he exclaimed as his ring shorted out momentarily.
The reboot took just long enough for him to stop flying and start falling. Falling which ended when he landed, butt first, on the ground with the thump. His momentum continued his movement and he rolled backward on his rump until the back of his head met the metal pole of a street sign. With a grunt Guy righted himself and reached up to feel the back of his head. That was going to leave a mark, he could tell already.
"That's IT! It is so on right now you magical bimbo! Guy's gonna kick your ass for you!"
Ring back on-line, Guy shot back into the air. His knight costume was forgotten and he was now dressed in his normal uniform, a green energy trail faded out behind him and a pack of transparent, green-glowing wolverines formed in front as he sped toward her.
"Have some of my school pride!" was the cry as the four energy form wild animals leaped forward, encircled her and readied for attack.
