Hermione had no idea where she was, or how she had gotten there. Her best guess was that she had accidentally touched someone else's Portkey and ended up on a trip meant for them, only she couldn't remember picking up anything unusual in the course of her day, or touching something that she hadn't touched a hundred times before.
Spinning around, she took in the area around her. It looked normal, but not quite at the same time. It definitely wasn't anywhere she recognised. Feeling for her wand, that at least was still tucked safely up her sleeve. Although the war was over, Hermione still felt safer when she had it on her at all times and had taken to carrying it no matter what she was doing.
Walking a little way, she thought she could establish the area as muggle at least. There were no robes or hats or owls to be seen. But what she could see looked disarmingly like a certain blonde annoyance. What was he doing here? Wherever here was... Even without knowing, Hermione thought it strange that a Malfoy was in a muggle area.
But he was the only recognisable figure around, so she had to ignore her dislike for him and his well known dislike for her and see if she could get some answers. At least everyone had calmed down a lot since the end of the war. Maybe she could manage a conversation without him biting her head off. Maybe.
"Malfoy?" Approaching him from the side, she said, "I know this might sound like a stupid question." Which made her hate asking him all the more. "But where are we?"
