After spending more than half of the day inside, Jane couldn't take it anymore. She pulled on a light coat and went outside. It was hotter than she had expected but she liked that there wasn't snow anymore at least. The Keep was obviously off limits and she didn't even know if she'd be able to help them get in. Jane knew her only contribution to survival for the week in terms of food would be to find something out in the forest. There had to be at least some edible flowers out in the forest like a hibiscus, or some fruit like Jaime had mentioned.
She searched for a while just to see what was out there, going off the path that they had cleared. It was apparently dangerous but Jane took a couple knives from the kitchenette with her. They weren't much but at least if she found something edible, she could cut it down properly or potentially stab something to eat. The longer she wandered around, the more she kept thinking that the others were probably just trying to scare her out of the competition by saying it was dangerous to be there.
Bored with what she was doing, Jane decided to start singing a song so she wasn't as bored and didn't feel so lonely out there by herself. She wished she had taken someone with her so that she at least had company but she ignored those feelings of loneliness and kept walking. Everything seemed to be so much more green as she kept walking - even things that had been rich shades of purples and pinks like the flowers scattered around the bed of the forest. She kept going, not paying much attention to her vision that was turning completely green, in turn making her eyes shine a brilliant green and streaks of green start to run through her normally golden hair.
She stopped singing when she heard water gushing. There was a blinding blue light coming from somewhere in the distance. Jane blinked a few times, trying to get her vision to adjust. She had just been in the forest too long, singing too many songs and it was getting to her head, right? But as she got closer to the water, she couldn't actually see any of the water. All she saw was blue squiggles everywhere. The blue squiggles were where the water should have been and the rocks that she felt all around her were still a rich green like the forest.
Thoroughly freaking herself out with only seeing pure colors and random squiggles, Jane started to run back the way she came. She realized that she couldn't see very much though so she stopped and felt around for a tree or something solid that she could grab onto. "Guys?" She yelled as loud as she could, still essentially blind and seeing only green everywhere. "Anyone? Help!" She didn't know if it was permanent or not but she couldn't help but feel overwhelmingly anxious at the thought of being permanently blind and trapped in the middle of the jungle.
