The event in the pool had been fun to watch, and he was definitely interested in seeing them go full on, once April got up to where Jake was. He wasn't completely sure he'd fit into that particular scenario, but he was definitely going to see about trying it at least. When he got a handle on his ability, which from the look of things was at least a few more weeks into his future. Afterward, he walked with Doug back to Doug's cabin because that's where the alcohol was and the wall-collisions were about to happen. Sure, okay, maybe Doug would make it through a wall, but even Tris had to admit there was a big difference between waving a hand through a glass and moving your whole self through a wall. Was it in Doug's future? Probably. Was it in Doug's future tonight? Maybe not. It was more likely they were just going to enact frat-house antics: drinking, laughing, and being utterly ridiculous as Doug ran at the wall and crashed a few times. But who knew? Practicing was the name of the game, after all, and Tris was game for practice, for helping practice, for watching practice. Once Doug unlocked the door, Tris followed him in. "If we stay here too late, I might have to crash with you," he said. "Don't they usually do the terrain changes at midnight?" If there was another one tonight, as history indicated there would be, he didn't want to be caught out in it. |
