Outside

Status: Narrative
Dahlia had thought she'd like this week. The outside was filled with pretty colors and the creatures were strange and unique. The night was filled with strange lights from whatever roamed in the depths of the dark and Dahlia had spent more than one night chasing after these glittering creatures trying to find out what they were... It was a fun game, a game she could do all by herself with no one around to sabotage her or get her somehow by the creatures again. It was a game she had enjoyed...until she happened upon the basilisk late Thursday night.
She came to find that being paralyzed was not so much fun.
By the time she awoke; having laid there for an hour or more with only her thoughts to keep her company, she had decided that finding the source of those pretty night time lights wasn't so important anymore.
Probably for the best. She didn't trust that the lights weren't someone out there playing a game. Maybe it was Jake making ice reflect to send her out into the depths of the forests to get hurt. Or maybe it was April throwing fire around. Or...she wasn't sure who else. But she didn't trust it. Just like she didn't trust Jaime enough to go see her about the bite mark she'd received from some dragon like creature while she'd been laying their immobile. At least all he did was bite and not drag her off to feed whoever many of them there were.
Dahlia hadn't left her cabin since. Just to be safe.
When morning came on Friday Dahlia remembered, albeit maybe too late, that she hadn't decorated. She'd been entranced by outside and had completely forgotten that Friday was supposed to be some holiday. It wasn't one Dahlia had ever celebrated really and the meaning of it was mostly lost on her but...she thought she should decorated. Why she wasn't all together sure. Maybe to get things.
Not for the others though.
She wasn't certain if the contest was over or if she had the day but Dahlia saw to the box of arts and crafts anyways. Like she'd guessed there were pinks...and glitters...
And like she'd feared Max somehow, despite all her best efforts, managed to get into the glitter and take it all around the cabin. Maybe it was his way of decorating. Dahlia wasn't overly happy about it but Max seemed pleased with himself.
The cat probably just wanted her to try to give him another bath so he had an excuse to scream his high pitched loud scream of his.
For most of the day Dahlia decorated. She didn't do the good job she normally would have but it was something. Something to do. Something to take her mind off this...worry that ate at her endlessly this week. Something to keep her from going outside or to the Keep.
Focused as she was Dahlia didn't really think to check her phone or her laptop. She didn't trust any messages from people and wasn't going to be fooled into leaving her cabin again. It wasn't until late that she noticed there was a slight light flashing on her laptop. Or maybe that it had just turned on in general...Dahlia still wasn't very good with it yet.
Pushing away from the pile of paper scraps Dahlia opened up the laptop and made a slight face at what she saw.
It was her garage. Or...what had once been hers. Boxes were everywhere; all her things were packed up or in a pile. What....what were they doing with her stuff? Was her father moving? Was he dead? Maybe he just wanted his garage back? She...didn't like seeing the place that way. That was her home. Her space and now...now it was empty and all that color and art was shoved away.
The house had boxes too.
And there were cars outside.
There was a shot of her neighbor talking to someone.
And a girl that Dahlia vaguely recognized.
Frowning Dahlia closed the laptop; not caring if the videos were done or not. She didn't want to see anymore....
Maybe she should have stayed outsideā¦.
