“Maybe” Dahlia agreed but she wasn’t certain if she believed it or not. Often, with her, things that worked once didn’t work again. Sometimes she found quiet in the dark, sometimes it was almost louder there. Her head wasn’t such an easy thing to defeat and she knew that was the problem, herself, when it came to painting. A part of her knew it would be easier to just give up. To…be strange and not try to keep things together. But Dahlia wasn’t willing, yet, to completely give up on everything. Not herself or her painting.
She moved easily back towards her cabin in the dark; or as easily as she could with her boots clomping along mostly untied. Once they neared it she saw Max in the window. Clinging to the screen now that he saw shapes and his meowing was just barely audible. Dahlia rolled her eyes slightly. They were all so strange; the kittens. It made her miss the others but Max was handful enough.
Inside the cabin they were greeted with Max rampaging through the cabin to greet them with headbutts. “Did you kill the evil paints?” by the dried paint on his paws Dahlia was guessing so. She hadn’t exactly cleaned up the paint before she’d run off…
She chewed her lip slightly as she picked the kitten up; checking to make sure he wasn’t completely covered in paint before setting him down again. “There might be food in the kitchen. I kept bringing some back for Sin but…I don’t know if she ate any of it or if they took it all already.” Since he’d mentioned not having much food when they were at his cabin.
Glancing around Dahlia resisted the urge to huff. It was…strange having the cabin to herself again. She hadn’t been sure, before, that having a roommate would be good for her but it had turned out to be and…now she didn’t again.
“I’ll go get some things…” a vague gesture towards her room that was…a mess. Thankfully it wasn’t too easy to see that from the main area of the cabin even though a light was on. Max followed along as Dahlia went to her room and tried to make some order out of the chaos quickly.
Mostly she just took the time to put April’s picture aside and out of the way. There was still much to do on it; details, clothing…she hoped she could finish it. Thankfully Max hadn’t destroyed it in his quest to rid the room of whatever bad things had made Dahlia upset. There were new kitten prints around the room though.
Grabbing her bag Dahlia stuffed in some paint and paint brushes; making sure to grab the blues she’d wanted to use to make ice in Jake’s cabin. Honestly…she wasn’t sure what she needed. She did grab some of Max’s toys from the room too. And her tablet. And some clothes to change into. She did swap out the sweatshirt she was wearing for a t-shirt too; if she painted the sweatshirts sleeves would be too long. She did pull on a jacket though so Jake wouldn’t worry about her getting cold and switched her shoes for ones not covered in mud.
Ducking into the bathroom she grabbed a few things, brushed her hair and quickly tied it back before making her way back to the main part of the cabin.
“I didn’t think I’d get used to having someone else in the cabin with me.” Dahlia remarked with a glance towards Sin’s door. “Now it feels strange…the cabin being empty.”
