"There's a first time for everything. Maybe once you figure out how to work past it this time, it'll be easier to do if it happens again." He didn't know, obviously. He'd never had a creative aspect to be blocked before, so he didn't have the remotest idea if that was right or not. It sounded right though, and he smiled a little when she said he was helping.
That was something, right?
He shook his head slightly as she described the kitten. It sounded ... interesting. Or annoying. And about as useful as Bomb's horns. Though ... that wasn't fair; maybe if the kitten hadn't been so loud, no one would've found him until someone else happened to notice Aiden's absence. So it was useful for that, anyway.
When she moved to get her boots, Jake pulled his sandals out from under the couch and plugged his laptop in to charge it. It was about due anyway. Once she was ready, he headed out after her and looked around curiously. It must, he realized, be easy for her to navigate the darker landscape. He moved slower and more carefully, glad that there weren't obstacles in between the cabins. It was unusual, sometimes, how that area was usually clear. How nothing really started until past the cabins. He wondered if that'd change in the future, too. But probably. If hazards were swarming the cabins, surely there'd be terrain related ones sooner or later.
Exhaling, he continued to follow along to her cabin, curious what the plan was going to be. He kind of wanted to look around too but he knew that was just a pointless, likely fruitless attempt to find some clue to Sin's absence. If it was voluntary or not. What had prompted it. But he was sure he wouldn't find anything; it didn't mean he didn't want to look though.
