"Hey, are we answering ... the things? I mean, I know we put it there for the sake of amusement, but ... are we actually replying?" "Is there a question? All I've seen is you suck, you're all assholes, and so on and so forth." "Dahlia wants to know if everyone's alive. And Alex wants to know what's the point and some other stuff." Matt laughed quietly before he lifted his hands in a 'like we know' sort of gesture. "Why don't you let Jason answer them?" "Because then he'd talk to them and Sam would fire him and I kind of like the way his mind works." Juliet absently scrolled through the network to see what else of interest was around. This week was exceptionally boring, as far as she was concerned. The teamwork club had managed to crack the challenge in a matter of hours, and now it wasn't anything more than a moderate annoyance to them. Next week would be interesting, if only for the mental issue they were inflicting. It'd be nice to see the close friends sniping at each other. "Jason's betting they wind up in separate rooms," she reflected absently. "You think so? I don't think so," Matt replied with a quiet laugh. "Next week? You really don't think so?" Matt shrugged, then shook his head. "I anticipate some sniping, some cat fights, a yelling match or two, but it'll take a little more than that to get the wonder couple to actually separate into other rooms. "I also anticipate a lot of resignation this week. The app's been opened more times than prior weeks. With Sir Sings-a-lot's declaration ..." Matt splayed his hands again. "I'm not surprised." "Yeah," Juliet replied with a faint sigh. "Well. We'll get a set to start over. Be interesting to watch a bunch of powerless ones run through arena week." She did grin at that, though she knew things didn't always move that quickly. That it might take a little longer to scout out and recruit an adequate set. But even so, they had a shitload of nasty weeks ahead. Dragons, hedgewolves, caves, and then the start of the ancient history series ... none of it was particularly pleasant. For the contestants, anyway. Juliet was looking forward to most of it. "Hey," she said a little distractedly a couple minutes later. "If they don't specify they want the kittens back alive ... we can hang onto them and drop them in dead as punishments, right?" "I don't see why not," Matt replied. "Might teach them to be a little more specific in their requests." He grinned a little. "We could also do it just to fuck with them. For no reason other than hey, we're assholes." She sucked in her cheeks slightly, more amused than not. "Fair enough," she replied. Why not? No one inside was exactly on their side, which was the way it was supposed to be. Juliet certainly didn't mind the hatemail; most of it made her giggle. "If what's-her-face resigns, can we swap out zoo week with amnesia since we never got to do that?" "I'll trot it by Sam, but ... probably, since that one was about her anyway, and without her ... pfft." Though he guessed that one did have the first instance of split climates, but since it was also the only instance in the ones they had coded and it was one Sam wanted to wait on, he didn't think there'd be an issue there. He also figured it was a given Chrissie was going to resign, but he guessed they'd see. Whatever came or didn't come, they'd see. Hell, if the whole set decided to rebel and bail, they'd recruit others and start over. No harm no foul. But he was pretty sure they had a core set that'd be sticking around, and he wasn't worried. |
