Carlos smiled at the hug. It wasn't often lately that he received those.
"Good call," he said in response to the announcement that she'd stayed inside during the zombie invasion.
She thought he seemed different. That wasn't too unusual, given what he'd been through in the last few days he supposed. He ran a hand through his hair and considered how to answer that. He wouldn't betray Peter and just how much his blood could do. He knew how that information could be misused in the wrong hands. And even in the right hands, he didn't envy his friend in having the responsibility of choosing whether or not to play god in certain situations.
"It's been a weird couple of days. And coming from me, that's saying something. I guess you could say I have a new lease on life."
He smiled at Mag, still thinking. Life was too short. It was always too short. There was a part of him that would always be waiting for Molly to come back, but he couldn't let them prevent him from moving forward. He hadn't done much dating over the last few years and that was something that he regretted sometimes-not having someone to share things with. He'd found that to some extent with Molly, but even then she'd still kept him at arm's length in many ways.
He didn't know if Mag was interested, but he supposed that the only way to find out would be to ask.
"You, uh, wouldn't want to grab a drink, would you?"
Never mind that it was a little early for that. He just assumed that she would have already eaten since she was in the cafe. And it wasn't like die Festung had a whole host of activities to offer.
