"It probably also has food that you don't have to wonder at." Aidan nodded. "No mystery meat sandwiches."
He looked at Dinah a moment, first in sympathy and then with that feeling taking over his body again. He breathed slowly and took a moment to clear his head.
"It's hard to not get attached to people, isn't it." Aidan could think of a couple of folk here that he might miss if he was sent home. It was a strange thought. That he'd be back where he belonged, and yet missing where he'd been.
"Yeah." He began to walk again. It was a good thing that they weren't too far outside of the city at this point. He could carry her, but he had no idea if she would appreciate that very much. He pointed to the gates, which weren't so far off in the distance that they couldn't be recognized as such.
"That's how far we've got to go. Think you can make it?"
