Rufio paused when the magic appeared, taking a few steps back and then turning to look at the man. Instinctively his sword raised, but then he hesitated, dropping it and slowly standing.
He walked over to the large rodent like creatures and frowned, kicking it in the side with his foot. Disappointment was clear on his face.
"Whatcha do that for? I haven't had a good fight in forever," he complained, dropping the skateboard slightly so that he was holding it once more like a teenager would traditionally hang onto his board. He lay the solid gold blade against his shoulder, looking up and around, then at the man, the disappointment falling away as his curiosity reasserted itself.
"Where's this? Neverland? You don't look like a pixie... even one of the City's big ones," he said, walking closer to the man. He didn't try to fight magical things on principle, nobody in Neverland did. It was the easiest way to get dead in a hurry. So his movements weren't threatening as much as they were inquisitive.
