It wasn't the first time in her life that she'd been told she'd been snatched from home, so that part of it she took rather well. But the mention of soldiers and hauling off to meet the boss triggered a reaction from long ago, and even though she didn't know this guy, she followed him quickly into the building.
It probably wasn't like it had been back home. Annie wasn't sure that a world this devoid of technology would have something like inhibitor spikes, but she really didn't want to find that out for sure. Things were dead enough as it was.
"Apocalypse." The word resonated. She supposed that would explain why everything looked so run down, so destitute. Areas of her own world had looked similar after the war, but not this bad. And not without machines.
"I'll be quiet." She promised. It was a nice enough thing to harbor her for a little while, and he seemed like a grumpy guy in general. If she had to sit silently in a corner for a bit, that's what she was going to do to avoid soldiers and being dragged off anywhere.
