"She doesn't want to get rid of us right now," Dinah said in an undertone, keeping her voice low enough so as not to be overheard by the guards. "Right now she thinks we can help her. Which means she's bending over backwards to get us in her corner."
She looked up at Oliver.
"What happens now is up to you two. If you want, they'll let us in the city and you'll have to meet with Belia. I can be there for that meeting if you'd like. She'll probably offer you both a place to stay and she might make it clear that she knows more than you're comfortable with her knowing. She won't hurt you. She hasn't hurt anyone else as far as I can see."
Belia wasn't that direct with her actions, Dinah knew. And right now, she did need them. It was working in their favor for now, but she didn't know for how long.
"If you decide not to stay here, I can help you find somewhere else to stay. There's a group of gypsy-types that travels all over the area. They keep each other safe and from what I can tell their leader is a good man. There's another settlement not too far from here that's touted as a safe haven for people like us. But the leader there is only in charge because he brutally murdered the previous leader," Dinah said.
It was a lot of information to dump on them, but they deserved to know the options.
She nodded to the city walls.
"Clark's staying here, so if you'd like you can come in here and talk to him and then make up your minds about where you'd like to go from there."
