"Hi, Dinah." Zee sounded strained and wasn't looking up from Sam's noggin where her fingers were threaded into his hair...which was really nice hair but that was a thought in the back of her head to be examined later. "You'll have to hug yourself for me. Can't let go."
Her smile was more of a grimace. This wasn't fun by any stretch of the imagination. "Well. In a nutshell. The kid here has been to Hell. The memories of it all were locked away behind a mental wall and that was coming down. Slowly, but it was going to happen. John and I figured it would be better for everyone if it came down under controlled circumstances." Her expression became sad and worried. "John's tied to Sam, walking him through accepting the memories. I'm playing anchor and lighthouse. One foot in the real world. One foot in Sam's head. This way they'll find their way out. Right now is a rest period."
She huffed and smiled wryly. "Welcome to the chaos. Should I apologize that you're here with us?"
