Sam slipped his arm around Fred and smiled down at her.
"I'm just glad that you're okay," he said softly before turning his attention back to the other two.
"No, I haven't," he told Selina and grinned and extended a hand to the 'doctor.' "Thanks for looking out for my wife."
It wasn't a territorial thing. The word was simply used to communicate just how appreciative he was that the other man had been quick to rush to check on the source of the screaming. It was always good to see the people in their small (and unfortunately growing smaller) group look out for each other.
