Slowly gaining ground, Eowyn had learned herself that her attacks must target either the head or the legs; it seemed that she couldn't do enough damage to most of the great torsos to bring victory. Adrenaline kept her moving, when her body would have otherwise felt the beginning ache of exhaustion. It had been too long since she'd properly trained, and although the constant walking kept her in shape, there was a difference between fitness and the endurance one developed while training hard for battle.
Another of the sleek runners shattered in shrieks at her feet, and she pushed forward, tackling the destruction of a lumbering one with great horns protruding from its brow. The creatures had yet to land a harmful blow to her, whether by their ineptitude or her own stealth she couldn't say. But as she fought, she began to wonder of the creatures' ability to harm them at all.
