Dinah laughed. She was pretty sure that she didn't have to tell him that relationships weren't supposed to work like that. He was right that they had their share of awkward. In some ways, the relationship had been founded on an awkward situation. After all, she'd known a very different version of Bruce back home and aside from that one kiss, she'd never pictured herself dating him.
She gave his hand a squeeze.
"That's a very good thing."
She didn't tell him that he should try to avoid the mistake of leaving things unsaid until it was too late. She didn't want to be yet another regret for him when all was said and done. On the other hand, she also could respect that speaking his mind didn't come naturally to him.
"Come on. The camp isn't going to patrol itself."
It was a lame attempt at changing the subject as opposed to lingering after they'd both said all they were prepared to say, but she was pretty sure he wouldn't call her out on it. While it would have been nice to hear that he felt the same, she hadn't expected that and she was still glad that she'd said what she was feeling out loud.
