She listened to his description, unable to fathom a rain of reptiles and amphibians. What a terrible downpour that would turn out to be. The poor creatures falling from the very sky itself on to the people and places below. Oh how frightening that must have been.
And a strange floating island? Her head spun a little.
She hadnt missed wen Piotr asked about her world and she took a breath for a moment before sighing out softly, "We have nothing like that where I am from. Or any of this," Mag said, arms sweeping a gesture to the ruined buildings. "Where I am from we are a race of vain human beings. The population cares only about being beautiful." It wasn't easy to talk about it because of how terrible it was.
"A long time ago, when I was younger we had a plague that caused organ failure. It wiped out a good percentage of the population. A man med Rotti Largo eventually stepped up and cured the planet with new organs. He made them affordable. You could finance them if you couldn't pay right away. And you signed a contract stating that if you ever stopped paying you would be subject to repossession. Rotti would send his Repo-Man after you and there was no place you could run or hide. It's a city built on the dead," She explained, a sadness taking hold of her heart. "I sang opera there in the city. It was a huge deal where I'm from. I was born blind and these eyes.." She lifted a hand to her face and touched gently over an eyebrow with her fingertips, "...these were my contract to Rotti. To be the spokesperson for GeneCo."
Lowering her hand to her side Mag looked up at Piotr and studied him, trying to see what effect her story had on him.
