Sam had never been more relieved to hear the string of babbling that was so very Fred. He didn't answer any of her questions just yet. He simply closed the distance between the two of them and pulled her close. He needed to just hold her. He closed his eyes and breathed in the scent of her hair.
There was a part of him that didn't want to tell her about the Impala. That didn't want to get frustrated or upset if she didn't understand why it was a big deal. Maybe a part of him that felt like this was the sort of thing that needed to stay between the two brothers.
There was also a part of him that knew he'd explain eventually. And that she'd probably understand as well as anyone who hadn't had their childhood could possibly do so. Just... not now.
