He released Leeloo after the squeeze of response she had given, unable to help but smile at her. He enjoyed her company a great deal. He wa glad they were friends, and he hoped that in the future nothing would come between them. It was said that often tragedy brought people together, made them unify. He hoped that this world saw no more tragedy.
Since his re-awakening, Eric really hadnt had too much personal contact outside of his normal duties. Sarah, the girl that he and Shelly used to care for before their deaths had embraced him, but none after that until he had arrived here. Effie, his vampire friend had really been the first one to get close enough to Eric willingly to be involved in any kind of embrace. She hadn't seemed concerned about being that close, and honestly Eric hadnt minded too much. Then Leeloo had hugged him after Peter had saved her...of course Dinah had offered a hand of consolation after he had shown her his story.
Maybe Eric was more of a magnet that he'd originally thought. How that could be he wasnt quite sure. In his mind he found the idea a bit revolting, wanting to be so close to someone like him, but perhaps he had retained more of his mortal traits than he'd thought originally upon arriving here. Maybe they had taken longer to show themselves. Or maybe he just didn't care to hide them anymore.
People tended to need certain levels of affection, a casual embrace, the touch of a hand or an arm when talking or interacting...Eric wasnt sure of he qualified as 'people' but he wouldn't argue the fact or push anyone away. If that was what someone needed then so be it.
At mention of Dinah, Eric looked at Leeloo with a nod, "You definitely can." There was no reason Leeloo shouldn't get out and meet other people in the different colonies. But there was really never a safe time to travel. "We can go when you want. Actually I promised to go see her the morning after next. If you'd like to go with me you're more than welcome," Eric explained, "She's supposed to help me train for this team. In a non-lethal way. Maybe having someone else there wouldn't be such a bad idea. At least you can try to hold me back if anything gets out of hand." He doubted it would but it never hurt to have another pair of eyes watching out for you.
Honestly, if Leeloo went Eric believed he could at least try to be safer. He had no desire to hurt Dinah, but he couldn't make promises. But if Leeloo was there to keep the training at a safer level with her presence and possibly act as a buffer for anything Eric might do then it would probably work out for the best. If she didn't want to go, then that was fine too. She had things here she was tending to and Eric wouldn't pull her out of that if the things here took precedence.
